Weekend swim meet

Another swim meet in the books. This one was a rough one. Claire had a 200 IM on Friday night, 5 events Saturday, and 4 events today.

Here Claire is about to swim her first ever 100 fly. She is a little bit nervous, as you can tell from the picture!

She had great form for the first 50, then got very tired by the end. All we wanted was for her to finish and not get disqualified. She did both of these things and now has the 100 fly under her belt! She was exhausted when she finished and she laid her head on the edge of the pool to get rest and catch her breath! At least we know she gave 100% effort!
Overall, the meet was a tough one and Claire struggled to meet her previous times. However, there was lots of good team work and bonding with her two swim buddies, Addison and Addison! Friday evening after the 200 IM, we all went out to dinner to celebrate Addison Vasquez turning 9 (she is the one in the middle who looks scared to death!). The girls had a blast and are building such a wonderful friendship! That is what matters more than anything else!

Claire and Alexis at I-Rise indoor trampoline park

Claire had a playdate with her good friend Alexis on Saturday. The spent an hour at an indoor trampoline park and had a blast!
I think this ball pit was the biggest attraction for the girls!

They also had fun on the balance beam trying to knock each other off!

Good thing we only did one hour because this is how the girls looked right before it was time to leave!

Tenth Avenue North and MercyMe in Tyler Texas!

We were blessed this weekend to get to see some of our very favorite people and two of our favorite bands all in one trip! Tenth Avenue North and MercyMe were doing a concert together in Tyler Texas. The best part of the trip was we got to spend some time with these two very special people we are lucky to call part of our family, MeMaw and PawPaw!

Claire brought one of her besties along and the girls had a great time together!
We got to sit in the second row and had a wonderful night of worship!

Tenth Avenue North put on an amazing concert! So blessed to have the opportunity to worship with my daughter and husband!

First swim meet of the season

Yesterday we had the first Fleet swim meet of the season. It was so fun to be back into the season and back with wonderful friends. Claire had a good meet. She came in 3rd place in her breaststroke for 9-10 year olds! We were pretty impressed! This season should be a fun one!

Camping at Jellystone Park

We spent the weekend camping with two other families and had a blast. The weather forecast called for 90% rain on Saturday and 80% rain Sunday but we decided to brave it and take the chance. We were the only 3 families in the entire campground that were in tents and I am sure most people thought us to be crazy with the forecast. God answered our prayers and we only got a small sprinkle overnight Friday, moderate rain for about 30 minutes Saturday, and moderate rain overnight for about 45 minutes into Sunday. So thankful we decided to chance it because we had so much fun and plan to continue to make it a yearly get together, probably adding more families each year!

The kids all wanted to help make the pancakes yesterday morning. They each had a job to do and they all did their job well!
Claire with Clara and Audrey Townsend. It was their families first time to camp ever and the kids did so well!
Claire became a "little mother" to Audrey and helped her down every slide and in the lazy river.
Sean and Laura Townsend having fun on the lazy river!
Michelle and Emily Moore with Phillip peaking behind Michelle.
Just to prove Jeff and I were actually there too, we had to get a picture!
As you can see, Claire is a little "mother hen" just like her Mommy use to be at her age!

Claire with Emily and Jackson Moore. Crazy to think Jackson is 6 months older than Claire! One would never guess based on their size!
After some bribing, we were able to get one group picture of the kiddos!
There was trick-or-treating last night. The kids got to walk around to other campers in RVs, campers, and cabins to get candy. The people who rented golf carts decorated them and there was a parade too. The kids had fun checking out the other sites and getting candy!
