Here is Claire moving furniture around (something she loves to do lately!)
Claire loves to carry around this chair that Nanny and Papa brought down during their last visit and likes to sit in it (even though it cannot be very comfortable)
Claire has started to have a shoe fetish. She loves to put on shoes and walk around in them. She has even tried to wear my shoes around the house one day.
Claire had lots of fun today at the gardens. She liked to touch all of the flowers.
Claire took a peanut butter sandwich and ate it by herself! This is a first for her!
Now to the title of the blog entry...tonight I was getting Claire ready for her tubby. She was down to her diaper when she walked over to the toilet and started to pound on the seat. I thought she was just playing a game of chase that we do before getting into the tubby. I went to where she was and took off her diaper. She began to go potty so I quickly placed her on the toilet and she continued to go potty! I was so excited! I am sure it was just a fluke, but I am a pretty proud mommy right now anyway and had to share the good news!

I can do it...all by myself!
Claire has started to carry around her old Easter basket as a purse. She will put in on her arm up to just above her elbow and walk around the house with her arm sticking out to keep it up! I love it! I think Santa might have to give her a little purse for Christmas! It looks like we are going to have to watch our little girl by the doggie door too. I think pretty soon she will be going though it. The rest of the pictures are some fun ones from the past few days. We are loving the slightly cooler weather and love having so many parks close by to frequent.

Feeding my baby doll
Claire has just started to do something new. Yesterday she began to play with her baby doll and feed her the bottle. She will lay the doll down on the floor, pretend to feed the doll the bottle, then pick up the doll and carry her around the house. It is so cute to watch.
She has started to get into the stage of imitating things she sees us do. I have watched her try to put on her socks, hang up clothes, and stir things in her toy pots. I am not sure where she learned the cooking part...I do not do very much of that!
One other thing Claire has gotten very good at is doing things by herself. She has become "miss independent". She no longer reaches for my hand to help her walk across uneven surfaces, no longer waits for me to help her climb the steps on the playground, and no longer waits for assistance to go down the slide. She has figured it out all on her own! I love that she is able to do so many things by herself. The only time it is difficult is when I need her to hold my hand (when she wants to walk at the store or gets close to the street) and she decides she doesn't want to. It is something we are working on!
We hope you enjoy the new pictures. As you can tell, we still take tons of pictures almost every single day! I took some time last night to look back at Claire's blog from a year ago. It is so hard to believe that so much time has gone by already. Time really does fly when you are having fun!

I now have 8 teeth!
Claire has been working on getting more teeth in over the past week or so. We finally have gotten two to come in so we are up to eight teeth now! She has been a very good sport about it. We have been dealing with a runny nose and lots of drooling but she has been happy so we can't complain.
I wanted to share a few pictures of Claire at the park today. Hope you enjoy!

It's time to play
We definitely have an outdoor girl on our hands. Claire loves to be outside and thankfully, we have had a break from the hot temps (we are currently in the low to mid-80's during the day) so we can be outside a lot. Claire enjoys being able to roam freely and explore her independence. We go the the nearby parks a lot and spend time playing in the driveway.
Claire is finally starting to get more teeth. So far, she still has only 6 teeth (two on the bottom and four on the top). Yesterday she woke up congested and drooling like crazy. She got fever in the afternoon and when I finally was able to look inside her mouth, I saw one tooth just about to pop through and her gums are swollen on both the bottom and top. The pediatrician did tell us that she most likely will have many teeth come in at once since it has been so long since she has had any come in. Well, I guess we have started! I feel so bad for Claire because you can tell she is not herself. We work hard to get her to smile and laugh and we are doing anything we can to take her mind off of the discomfort of her teeth coming in.

Life is a Highway
I am working on something creative for the next blog posting. We'll have to see how it turns out.

Me and my Daddy
We had a family day at the park yesterday. I wanted to share a few fun photos of Claire with her Daddy at the park. It was so much fun watching our little girl explore and discover new things. She is getting good at climbing around on the playground equipment and loves to walk all over the place all by herself!
