Pess; Kennel

The words have been running as rampant as her tiny legs have been. It seems that now she is able to say just about every word that we end a sentence with. Not only does she pick it up but she continues to say it for the next five minutes over and over. It's actually quite cute but it does keep us on our toes. The other day we set up a sprinkler play toy in the front yard for Claire and some of the neighbor kids to run through. I have a feeling she is going to be a water baby all summer long. She loves to run through water and it all started when I was watering a new tree we planted. I had her helping me hold the hose and then I showed her how to run her hand through the water. She got a kick out of it and her hand soon turned into her whole body. One of my favorite things she has been doing lately is helping me get Presley into the kennel when we go somewhere. The dog does not like the kennel so sometimes I have to yell to her a few times before she goes in. Claire picked up on that and now will go stand near the kennel and yell very loud "pess, kennel". Its hard not to laugh because she is trying to be so serious and accomplish a difficult task. Watch for more funny sayings and actions from our little munchkin.

These are a few of my favorite words/phrases

Claire has become a chatterbox over the past few weeks. I wanted to share a few of her favorite words. The one we hear most often is "Almot done" (almost done). She also says "I o know" (I don't know), "Oh no", "Hiding" (she loves to put her hands over her eyes and pretend she is hiding A LOT!), "Care" (Claire). She has become very good at knowing her colors and identifying animals and the sounds they make. We are working on her letters and she knows A, O, K, P, Y and occasionally a few more. She amazes us every single day with how smart she is and with how quickly she picks up on things. Lately she has been repeating the last word or two that we say. Guess we need to pay attention to what gets verbalized! We planted a few new trees and Claire has been "helping" Daddy water them every night. Once her work is done, she then gets to play in the water from the hose for a bit. She loves it so we are hoping she will love the pool this summer!

Outdoor fun

Our friends have come to visit with a truckload of toys for Claire. They were able to bring down an entire swingset that they are finished using and a play toyhouse that Shannon has let us have. We spent their first day here putting everything together. Claire has had a blast with the playhouse and is working on getting use to the swingset. We are so happy to have Tim, Jenny, Megan, and Austin here to visit and are having lots of fun together. These are just a few outside shots of Claire with her new toys. Thank you Shannon for giving us the toy playhouse and thank you Tim and Jenny for giving us your swingset and bringing it down to us. We will have many, many hours of fun outside with both of these things!

Woah?

Claire has a new thing that she has been doing over the past week or so. She likes to pick up anything and put it to her ear and say "woah?" It is so cute and makes us laugh!

Claire has found that her step stool comes in very handy for many things. She likes to use it to be able to reach the microwave in her kitchen. This way she can easily reach the buttons which make the sound "beep, beep", according to Claire. She has to check everything once it comes out of the microwave to make sure it is not too hot by placing her hand over it and then blowing on it!

Claire loves to lay on her tummy to read books with her Daddy.

Daddy decided to let Claire try eating an apple one day. She loved it and did a pretty good job at eating most of it by herself (with just a little help from Daddy).

I love this picture! It is probably the only one I will ever get with Claire wearing her sunglasses. She does not like to keep them on. The fun part is watching Claire clean them by blowing on them and then wiping them against her shirt. Wonder where she learned that trick?!
