Claire's mealtime prayer

Still missing my Nanny and Papa

We had such a blast when Nanny and Papa came to visit. Claire quickly became Nanny's girl and I was lucky to get a hug when I came home from work! By the end of their stay, Claire had warmed up to Papa and had become Papa's girl. Every night since they have left, Claire asks when Nanny and Papa are coming back when it is time to go to sleep. We get to see them on skype but even Claire knows it just isn't the same. We can't wait to get up to visit everyone in August! We miss y'all!

Pool play with Nanny and Papa

Claire has been loving all of the extra attention since Nanny and Papa have arrived. Tonight I came home from work and was lucky to get a quick hug before she had to crawl onto the couch to sit between Nanny and Papa! We will all definitely miss them when they leave in only a few more days. As you can tell from the pictures, Claire is just having a blast getting spoiled!

Nanny and Papa are finally here!

We have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Nanny and Papa and they have finally made it. Claire has quickly taken to them both and I have a feeling we might lose our little girl to them! It is so fun watching them interact with Claire and seeing them all have such a great time together. I have to work on taking more pictures.

Lovin' the puddle jumper

Some friends of ours introduced us to the "puddle jumper" life jacket on Monday. After we saw how well their kids did in the water, we had to get one for Claire. She absolutely loves it. Today was her third time wearing it and she wanted no help from Mommy to swim. She even jumped to me from the deep end of the pool! I highly recommend this life vest for every child. It works so much better than the traditional life jacket that rides up on Claire's neck and tips her forward.

What do we do when both Sheila and I have the day off; it is going to be 100 degrees; and we just added chemicals to the pool? We packed up the car and went to the beach. Claire has been to the ocean only one time and we thought she would have a bit more fun now that she can run around and splash. We were right. Both of us thought she would just walk up to the water and then want to play in the sand but as soon as the first wave hit her toes she was hooked. She fearlessly trounced out to sea with no concept of the danger that was in front of her. Luckily we slowed her progress as she reached water that was chest high. She wanted to crash into the waves as they came at her. It was so fun listening to her giggle as each one passed by. We cannot wait until our next trip to the beach to see what surprises she will show us.

Playin' with "Mi-ma and Paw-paw"

We have been truly blessed to have Barb and Jim (aka Mi-ma and Paw-paw) in our lives since we first moved to Texas over three years ago. They have been with us through our pregnancy and have become very important in Claire's life. They always say Claire is their adopted granddaughter! We make it a point to go and visit them at least every other week. We enjoy having them be such a big part of Claire's life. I finally remembered to bring my camera with at our last visit to show everyone just how much fun Claire has with them!
