Happy Halloween Y'all!

As you can see, Claire was Snow White this year for Halloween. We had our friends over for dinner and trick or treating. It was so much fun watching the kids run house to house to get candy. They all lasted for about an hour before saying they had enough candy and could go home! Claire should sleep good tonight!

Our little construction worker

Last Thursday Claire got into big trouble for not listening to Mom. She choose to run away from me down the sidewalk of our neighborhood all the way to the entrance of our development before stopping. Because of her actions, she lost all of her toys until tomorrow. All she has to play with are her books and a notepad and pencil. Needless to say, she has been required to be creative to pass the time these past few days! Today she decided to take out Daddy's little tool box in our house and "fix" things. She took her work outside while I was making cookies. When I went out to see what she was "fixing" this is what I found...

Here she is "tightening the bolts"
Then it was time to "measure the pressure"
Claire came in to tell me that she was fixing the doggy door because it was loose. I thought she was playing still and told her she was doing a good job. Well, when I got outside, I found out she was not playing and the doggy door really was loose. This is because Claire decided to use Daddy's electric screwdriver and unscrew the four screws that hold the door on! She had placed the screws on the deck and was trying to put them back in!

After showing her how to screw one back in place, she took over and finished the project...

Super crazy kiddo!

Waiting to get on the carousel at the zoo with Daddy!
Of course once a child figures out she can blow bubbles in her milk cup,
this becomes a daily routine!
How Claire kept herself entertained at Garden Ridge while
Mom and Dad looked at pots for the front yard!
Only our child!
Claire showing off her big muscles after eating all of
her peas for lunch.
We worked hard on making a turkey with hand prints. Claire cut out the circles herself
and painted her hand each color to place for the feathers. Here she is concentrating
super hard on her autograph.
The final product!

Learning to read

Claire has started a reading class called Head Start to Reading. Today was her third time and she came home with this sheet of sentences containing the 7 words she has learned so far. It is amazing to watch her just go through the entire sheet without much struggle! Our little girl will be reading books to us before we know it!

Always doing something!

Ta-da! Look at me Mom! No hands!
 Being silly together!
Claire loves to help with EVERYTHING...so I decided to put her to work!
Caught Claire doing hopscotch in the driveway. She surprised me with how well she can
coordinate her feet. She must get that trait from her father!
Adorable when these two kiddos get along so well!
 Time for trampoline tricks!
Working on writing before preschool this morning!

Park play

We went to the park with our neighbors the other day. It is finally starting to cool off a little bit and is now tolerable to be  outside for a while. The kids had so much fun together and ended up playing for over 2 hours! It is so interesting to listen to their conversations...I have a feeling we have one strongly opinionated child on our hands!

Our busy little girl

Waiting for mom and dad to come "check out" in her store
Who doesn't love an ice cream cone on a warm fall day?
Heading onto the soccer field...looking tough!
Saying the pledge before the game starts. Still working on getting Claire
to get involved in the game but this was only her second game. We are hopeful
that by the end of this season, she is more active in the game. Time will tell.
Claire and Daddy getting ready for a race down the sidewalk...
Ready, set....GO!

Back to everyday life

A few more pictures taken before G-Ma and Grandpa left for home. Just found out they made it back home safely, praise God! This morning when Claire woke up the first thing she did was open the door to G-Ma and Grandpa's room to check on them and they were gone. We are so thankful for the time we did get to spend with them here.God has blessed us with many wonderful memories.  Amazingly, they both admitted that living down south wasn't too bad after all (even through the summertime)!
