And she's off to kindergarten...

Thursday, August 21st we had "meet the teacher". Claire was so excited that she
decided to share some of her silly faces!
Here Claire is in her kindergarten classroom with her teacher,
Mrs. McGuire.
Today (August 25) is Claire's very first day of kindergarten...
She was over the top excited to go. Mom and Dad on the other
hand had mixed emotions about it all!

Claire was so excited this morning that we had to head to the bus stop
20 minutes early! Good thing it hadn't reached the high of 100 degrees
yet!
 And here my baby goes...
onto the bus without even a moments hesitation or
a look back.
My baby is growing up way too fast!

"I'm the doctor...next patient"

WELCOME TO DR CLAIRE'S OFFICE...
what is your problem?
When you come to visit Dr Claire, the first thing she does is take your blood pressure.
It gets very tight on your arm!
Next Dr Claire will listen to your heart,
 look in your eyes,
 inspect inside your mouth,
and check your reflexes with her hammer.
Finally, Dr Claire will look at your ouchie to see if she can fix it with
her special healing tool.
So proud of Claire today. She took her tinker toys and created all of these "doctor tools" by herself!
She has such an amazing imagination!

I'm a scientist at Little Beakers!

Little Beakers is a cool place where kids can do science experiments.
Claire loved to pick which experiment she wanted to do and
of course she had to do all of the measurements (good thing
she had so much experience from all of her baking with
Grandpa!)

As you can see from the pictures, Claire enjoyed this hour of making things
foam, explode, and smoke!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

We started the day by making Daddy blow out candles on his
English Muffin for breakfast.
Then Daddy got to open his presents from Claire. She got him some water balls for the
pool and two big squirt guns for the pool. She also made sure to get his
favorite snack...zebra cakes!
We did lots of fun things on Daddy's birthday including going bowling
and going to Little Beakers where Daddy taught me how to be a
good scientist. I got a little crazy in the car ride home!
No birthday is complete without a cake so before bed Daddy had to
blow out more candles after we sang Happy Birthday to him.
It was a very fun day together as a family.

Swimming with friends

We were very blessed today to get to spend the afternoon with friends enjoying our pool and fellowship. We had beautiful weather and we were able to have so much fun together. Now that Claire can swim on her own, Mommy and Daddy are able to enjoy a bit more freedom in the pool. We spent the afternoon and early evening swimming and grilling out. What a perfect day it was!

No more training wheels!

Jeff worked with Claire the past 2 days on teaching her how to ride her bike without training wheels. As you can see from the video, she is catching on quickly and is already doing a very good job on her bike. Next will be teaching her how to turn and stop. Once that is mastered, it looks like it is time for a bigger bike. We are so proud of how determined Claire is to learn to ride her bike. She never ceases to amaze us. Our little girl is growing up way too fast!

The Children's Museum

Jeff and Claire went to the Children's Museum last Saturday. As you can see, they had lots of fun! I have a feeling this might be a place we frequent (if we can find time once school starts).
