Just a girl and her dog

Belle has been an amazing addition to our family. We adopted her one week ago today and she has just warmed up to us so well. Claire loves her dog and playing with Belle is a highlight of her day.
Claire likes to take Belle for walks. This is one of her "jobs" as she calls it.

As you can see, Claire and Belle are very connected already. They love to play and
love to cuddle!

Meet Belle...our newest addition to the family!

Mommy has been wanting another dog since losing Presley the end of March.
Claire is at a great age to assume some of the responsibilities of having a
dog and was also super excited to get a dog for a pet. Today we decided to head
to a rescue shelter to adopt a dog and Belle won us over.
After doing some paperwork, she was ours to take home. We have immediately
grown very fond of her (even Jeff likes to play with her, although he won't admit it!).
She hasn't even barked one time yet...wonder if she knows how!
All that we know about Belle is that she was found running along the highway and turned in to the
shelter 12 days ago. They told us they believe she is a lab/pug mix and is about one year old.
They claim she is full grown. I hope so because our house is not equipped to have a full grown
lab!
As you can see, Claire and Belle have gotten along well from the start.
She was a wonderful car rider and even fell asleep in Claire's lap on the
way home!
I believe we can say it was "love at first sight" for the Naustdal family!

First homework assignment

We made it through the first week of kindergarten with only one injury.
Claire was playing in pillows in the kitchen and fell and busted her chin open
last Wednesday. We ended up in the ER and were able to walk away with only one
stitch. She was so brave and only shed one tear when the nurse wrapped her like
a burrito to keep her from moving. She had liquid numbing medicine and didn't even
feel the stitch being put in. What a strong kid we have!
Here Claire is working on her very first homework assignment. She was
sent home with a large hand and had to decorate it with things that
will tell the class about her. She cut out the hand all by herself,
and did all of the decorating without any help from Mom or Dad.
And here is Claire's first finished homework assignment!

Super secret agents to the rescue!

Claire and I were able to get to the park early enough today to be able to enjoy
some outdoor time before it got too hot. As you can see from the pictures, Claire loves
the park!

Claire and I became "super secret agents" at the park.
Here we built a mouse house out of sticks and leaves.
Now you have entered out "super secret agent" workstation.
Claire has arranged her "keys" and is ready for another mission.
Here is a picture of the "super secret agents" at work!
Are you scared?!
