Claire's story from kindergarten

Today Claire brought home her first "book" she wrote in school. She let us know it was
fiction. The title is:
 In the Forest
One day we went for a walk in the forest and had a picnic. We brought lots of food to eat.
It was a beautiful day in the forest.
We had lots of fun there. We did crafts and did make necklaces. We had fun.
There were no mean animals. There was a dog and a cat that weren't mean, they were nice.
The End.
Of course we need to work on spelling, but for a 5 year old, I have to say I was pretty impressed!
Hard to believe Claire is reading chapter books (she loves Junie B Jones books) and now writing stories. What happened to my baby girl?

Easter Egg Hunt

I was able to find a fun Easter Egg Hunt this past weekend to go to. It was really nice with many activities for kids.
Claire got to go on a pony ride,

 jump in a bounce house,
play games including bean bag toss and spinning for certain numbers,
 color a window fixture,

 and run for eggs!
We advised her to run all the way to the back of the field since most kids would stop in the front to pick up the first eggs they saw. Claire listened well and headed straight for the back. She got lots of eggs and they each had a small toy in! Nice to not get candy for a change!

This was a super fun way to spend our family day. So thankful for beautiful weather and a happy family!

Crazy Claire!

I took Claire shopping the other day. She was so excited to try on her clothes and would walk up and down the dressing room and pose in front of each mirror to watch herself!
Claire riding with her favorite dog!
Claire was so excited when her Daddy posed with her for a picture during a break in his hockey game. She even made him a sign to cheer him on!
 My beautiful girl!
A preview of what the pre-teen and teen years will look like. Yikes! Mommy is not ready for that!

Last days with Granny

Claire and Granny really connected while she was here for the winter. It was so fun to watch them interact together. Some times they didn't get along real well but most of the time they were laughing and giving each other a hard time!
Claire got spoiled at the book fair when Granny bought her a Barbie book.
Granny is teaching Claire how to do "peas, porridge, hot..."
 Claire loving on her Granny!
Claire looking like a little lady after putting on colored lip gloss before going to
listen to PawPaw sing.
The ladies at Daddy's hockey game. Claire had fun watching Daddy and was especially excited when he would skate by and wave to her!

Sea World 2015

We had a great time at Sea World this weekend. We were suppose to go for two days but the weather changed that for us. Thankfully God gave us one day of beautiful weather to enjoy all of the shows we wanted to see and go on all of the rides Claire wanted to. If we could take the Shamu roller coaster home with us, I am pretty sure she would never get off it! We are so thankful that we got to share this trip with Grandma. Many good memories were made yesterday!

Dad takes swimming lessons

The hotel we stayed at in San Antonio had a heated indoor pool. Claire decided
she needed to give Dad some swim lessons.
 The happy team to start
Here Claire is coaching Dad on the back stroke. You can see her cupping her
hands so her voice is loud enough for him to hear her instructions!
Then he got some lessons on how to kick correctly...
and since he wasn't getting it right, Claire had to demonstrate the skill!
Happy teacher and happy Dad! He passed level 5!
