Fun at gymnastics

Claire loves gymnastics! She took a break from it for a while but is now back at it.
It is so fun watching her challenge herself and we can always tell when she is concentrating
because that tongue is sticking out!

Oops...someone caught Mom taking pictures!
At The Little Gym, they encourage Claire to do a flip around the bar alone. She
does so well listening to the teachers and really pushes herself beyond
her comfort zone. She makes us so proud!

Daddy and Claire are working on handstands at home. After a few times of not
pushing up hard enough, she finally got it (well, almost!). By the way, we do not
keep our grill in the kitchen...we brought it in last night due to some severe storms
that were expected.

Claire loves bowling!

Jeff took Claire bowling today. They had a blast, and I think she scored higher than Mom ever scores!
Waiting patiently for the ball to get to the end of the alley...looks like a good roll!
Good thing Claire eats all of her vegetables every day because they make her strong enough to carry the bowling ball with one hand!
On the second game, Claire got a strike! She scored 93 for her second game. Pretty awesome!

Our little ballerina!

Claire has not had any interest in dance until this year. We enrolled her into The Little Gym where she gets to do 30 minutes of dance (tap and ballet) and 30 minutes of gymnastics. This is a win-win for her since she has always loved gymnastics. She is so attentive to the teacher and always strives to do her very best! I love how she sticks her tongue out when she is concentrating, just like her Snuggle Bunny used to do!

Happy Easter!

I woke up today noticing we had a visit from the Easter Bunny last night. Since I had to work, we woke Claire up at 5:30am to help us find the clues to her Easter basket. The bunny thought it was a good idea to incorporate exercise into each clue. Claire had a blast with this and smiled the entire time. She had to go outside two times,
sit and relax for one clue,
do some situps and then find the next egg,
and finally, after 10 jumping jacks, found her basket in the car.
As you can see, Claire is a morning person. She had no problem waking at 5:30am to start her day and help Mommy figure out what the note on the TV was all about (the first clue).
After church I had some wonderful visitors at work and got to share a donut with them!
Claire of course picked the one with all the sprinkles!

Of course, this was all fun, but we can't forget the real reason we celebrate today. Last night we watched The Bible series showing Mary going to the tomb to find it empty. I feel this was a great way for Claire to better understand what we have been teaching her about Easter. She had many questions during the show which shows me that she is starting to understand the miracle we have been given in Jesus Christ!

Easter egg coloring the pinterest way!

So I had another great idea: Take something off of Pinterest and do it at home. Well,
I have to say that even though trying to color Easter eggs with shaving cream turned out to
be a huge mess, we had fun doing it as you can see! Good thing I had some expired gloves from work to keep our hands from getting stained.

After trying a few with shaving cream and making an enormous mess, we moved on to better things and decided to color eggs the "normal" way!

I wouldn't say the Pinterest idea was a total flop, but our normally colored eggs turned out
much better. We don't know until we try it right?!

Salt dough ornaments

I have to admit...I love pinterest! I found a recipe for salt dough ornaments and thought it would be a fun activity to do with Claire on Good Friday.
Wednesday after school, we made the dough and cut out our ornaments using cookie cutters.
We placed them on a cookie sheet to bake for 2 hours.
Today we painted all 18 of them!

I painted this one purple and Claire put a P, a G, and a S on it in memory
of Presley, Grandpa, and Sophie. She came up with that idea all by herself. Just warms my heart.
After we hung them on the tree out front, Claire and our neighbor girl Briley had fun
trying to jump and touch them!

I am sure the rain will wash the paint away but it sure was fun making them!
