It's a beautiful day for a get together!

The weather this weekend was absolutely amazing. Today we got to spend lunchtime with our new church bible study group and then we had some great friends over for dinner and outdoor games. We all had a blast and will definitely sleep well tonight.
Claire had so much fun with Jackson, Emily, Raleigh, and Emery tonight. Wish we had more days when it worked to all get together.

Claire's first big project for 1st grade!

Claire had her first big project due this coming week for school. She had to come up with something to graph and tally and display it in a pictograph which included labels and a title. She also had to do a tally graph, write three sentences that talked about her graph, and decorate her project. It was a good thing she knew what all of the instructions meant so she could explain to us what she needed to do! She decided to use Froot Loops for her project. She used glitter glue (in rainbow colors of course) for the title...Claire's Froot Loops Fun (which she came up with all on her own).
Then she made her own graph chart on construction paper using a ruler and then glued on her Froot Loops, graphing them by color.
She added her tally graph, her sentences, and then some decorations we cut out of the cereal box to finish her project. I think it turned out pretty cool! Hopefully the teacher will think so also!

Wings over Houston

We got to spend Saturday at Wings over Houston. It was very cool to see all of the different planes and to watch them in action. They reenacted events from Pearl Harbor and had some pretty cool flight teams. This is definitely something I know my Dad would have really enjoyed.

Gotta throw in a few crazy pics into the mix!

Tenth Avenue North concert

We were able to start our weekend off by going to see Tenth Avenue North in concert. They are Jeff's favorite band and it was a great night of worship.

By about 9:30pm, Claire was down for the count! Just warms my heart to listen to her sing along to the songs she knew! Wish I could just freeze here right now to keep her at this age.

Wednesday night fun learning about Jesus!

Jeff and I have been blessed to belong to a church that has bible study on Wednesday nights. We help with the K-2nd grade kids. It has been a challenge at times, but also very rewarding to watch the kids return each week being able to recite the bible verse we worked on the week before. God has brought us to this place for a reason and we have enjoyed growing in the Bible along with some amazing kiddos. Claire is lucky to have one of her very best friends, Karsen, go with her on Wednesday evenings. So fun watching these two great girls together!

Fun with Raleigh and Emery!

We were able to help our our friends by watching their kids on Saturday. It turned out they did us a favor as well because we had a blast spending the afternoon with Raleigh and Emery. We painted pumpkins, played with Belle, played washer toss ( a game Claire and Jeff had made a few weeks back), went to Bahama Bucks for snocones, and played at the park. It was lots of fun and I know Claire loves to have other kids around to play with.

Growing plants for my teachers

We came up with the idea of getting some small houseplants, having Claire take care of them throughout the school year, and then giving them to her teachers as gifts at the end of the year.
Claire had a blast helping to transplant them into pots.

This the the plant she picked out for her homeroom teacher, Mrs. Kissmis.
This is the plant she picked out for her switch teacher, Mrs. Hamilton.
With some prayers and good luck, these plants will make it to the end of the school year! I sure hope Claire has more of a green thumb than her Mommy does! If not, there is always Target gift cards!

K2 Gymnastics "Move It"

We have had Claire in gymnastics for a while and she has always loved going. When she gets to K2 Gymnastics, she is always bouncing around and you will find her with a smile the entire class (unless she is concentrating and then her tongue sticks out!). On Tuesday night, we were very proud of her. She moved from level 1 to level 2 along with two other girls in her class. She has worked hard at class and at home to get her cartwheel and back bends to where they need to be. So happy her hard work has paid off and we are now moving on to bigger challenges!
