handstands

This was the very first time Claire was able to get to the wall when practicing handstands! She has been practicing so much at home and we are so very proud of her! Practice does make perfect!

Sidewalk Chalk

It was such a beautiful day so we had to get outside and color on the driveway. Grandma and Claire had such a great time being creative!

 Claire made Donald Duck,

 a fish swimming,

and a turtle.

 Finally, Claire got to give Grandma a lesson on how to draw a gumball machine! 

 Here are the finished projects!

A day at the arcade

We spent much of yesterday in Katy at the arcade. We played 18 holes of mini golf and had a great time.

 Claire got 4 hole-in-one shots and Grandma got 2!

Then we got Grandma on the indoor tilt-a-whirl. We had a blast on this and were pretty dizzy by the end of the ride!

 Then Claire had to play some games of course! She got to drive a fancy yellow car that shook when she got off the road,

 she won 100 tickets in one spin of the Pinochio game,

 and cashed in her points before we left for some pretty cool toys! We all had a really fun day!

More fun with Grandma!

This picture was taken before school one morning. Claire, Grandma, and I were playing dice while we waited for the bus. Our dog, Belle, felt she needed to be in on the game and jumped right up next to Claire! Too cute!

 On Thursday, we went to have lunch with Claire at school. It was a special treat for all of us!

 Claire and Grandma are playing Brain Quest. It is a trivia game geared toward 1st through 6th graders. Claire is trying to explain a question to Grandma. Good thing she is a good listener!

 Treat night with Grandma! Just one more way she gets spoiled when Grandma is here!

Having so much fun with Grandma!

We have been loving having Grandma here these past few weeks. Claire is just soaking up all of the attention and Grandma is such a great sport. They like to do many things together including

doing Sudoku...

playing cards... 

 dancing...

 watching Claire's favorite shows on television...

 and playing more cards! Claire has become very good at the game of golf

and pass to your neighbor. She seems to win more than any of the adults!

Claire's new bike

Claire got a new bike and helmet for Christmas since she had outgrown her old bike. 

I was a little worried that it was too big and she would not want to ride it, but she proved me wrong.

She got on and rode it with no fear! So proud of how quickly she jumped on and rode without hesitation!
