Spring break with Owen and Ellie!

We were so blessed to have Grandma Rachel here for the past few months. She has been such a great support and such a wonderful helper. We were able to spend lots of time together and make many good memories. Thank you Mom for all that you have done for us while you were here, we appreciate you more than words can say! Shannon, Owen, and Ellie were able to come over spring break to spend a few days with us and we had a blast! The girls got to see Beauty and the Beast at the movie theater while the two boys got to go to an escape room. The boys were really close to solving the puzzle and getting out, if only they had 10 more minutes! The girls got to receive the royal spa treatment at home, courtesy of Shannon and myself! Of course, the kids braved the cold pool and had a blast each day swimming. They would come out with blue lips but still insist it wasn't cold! These three cousins have such a wonderful bond! Thank you Shannon, Owen, and Ellie for helping us to have a wonderful spring break!

Daddy Daughter Date Night!

Tonight was Daddy Daughter Date Night at Houston NW church. Jeff surprised Claire with a dozen roses to start off the evening!
My beautiful daughter and handsome husband all dressed up for their date night!

I cannot believe how grown up Claire is becoming. I wish time would just stop for a while. She is such a wonderful gift from God! She has such a great caring heart and a love for life!

Learning cribbage!

I have absolutely loved watching the bond grow between Claire and G-Ma this year! They are so funny together and love to give each other a hard time! I know my Dad would have loved to see how close these two are becoming.
Claire and G-Ma are playing a game where one person gets 30 seconds to study the other and then has to look away while the person changes one thing about her position. The first person then has to come back and try to figure out what is changed. So funny to watch!
We have taught G-ma how to play cribbage while she has been staying with us and it has become an almost nightly activity. Last night Claire said she wanted to learn how to play. To be honest, I was thinking it would be way too complicated for a 7 year old to catch on to. Well, Claire proved me wrong! After a few rounds with help, she requested to play on her own and we had a very close game! She is just too smart for her age and I am so proud of how grown up she is becoming! I do wish she could stay 7 for a long time though!

Giddy Up!

We got to go to a petting zoo and pony ride event through Claire's school last weekend. Claire did awesome at getting onto her horse all by herself! I think she just may be ready to try some trail riding!

After her horse ride, she got to ride the donkey! I don't know which she liked better. She looked like she was having a great time on both!
