Happy Halloween!

Claire had a great time hanging out with friends tonight to trick or treat. They filled their baskets within the first 30 minutes!

It was fun watching the faces of other kids as we walked past them. You could tell they were trying to figure out Claire's costume!
The three besties...Addisyn, Claire, and Karsen! Always fun when these three are together!

And the winner is....

Claire ended up coming home with two awards for her Oscar the Grouch pumpkin last night!
She got the Kids Choice Award and 1st place overall award! Hard work and creativity pay off!

Pumpkin decorating contest for church

Our church is having a pumpkin decorating contest on Wednesday evening. Claire and Karsen worked on making their pumpkins this afternoon. Claire wanted to do Oscar the Grouch. First she sprayed her pumpkin green...
 Then she created the eyeballs.
 Then she painted the mouth.

All Jeff and I helped with was holding things, Claire placed and painted everything on her own!
 Adding the tongue...
Then of course she had to add some trash and a sign. We think it turned out pretty great!
Karsen and Claire with their finished projects!

A great swim meet to start the season!

Claire had a great first meet of the short course season this weekend! She took home a ribbon for 5th place in the 100 breaststroke and 6th place in 100 fly! She also cut 32 seconds on her 500 freestyle and is only one second shy of making a BB time! We are so proud of all of the effort she puts in at practice every day and how much drive she has to keep getting better. Her coach has all the kids keeping track of their times every meet on a chart and I think this really helps her to see her improvements. She continues to amaze us every day!

She allowed us a few pictures on Saturday. Today the only way I got one was by telling her I would buy her a candy to eat after the meet! She knows how to work it, that's for sure!
This was one of my favorite moments this weekend. Claire tends to hang out with Mom and Dad more than with teammates. Today she spent some of the time with other swimmers and it was fun to watch them all smiling and getting along together. Hope she continues to see the importance of building friendships with the kids she will be spending a huge amount of time with if she decides to stay in swim.
Love this! Jeff is giving Claire a little pep talk before her 500 freestyle. She definitely was soaking it in and put her skills to work!

Making the home page photo for Fleet!

We logged into our swim team website the other day and this is what we saw! Claire swimming her heart out was big and center on the screen! So cool so I had to share it! It isn’t every day that your child is on the home page of a website!
