Stuck in the sand....

Who doesn't like to get buried in the muddy ocean sand when you are a kid? We made a hole for Claire's feet to go into and got her covered almost to her knees in what felt like cement to her...

Claire had fun leaning back and forward while being held in place by the ocean's muddy sand!

Getting out was not as easy as she thought!

Once back at home, Claire and our friends enjoyed a little time in the pool and hot tub! We had such a fun week with wonderful friends and always love having company!

A visit from Tim and Jenny - Matagorda Beach

We got to spend a week with our good friends Tim and Jenny. We went to Matagorda Beach for the day and enjoyed some boogie boarding and playing in the ocean!

Stingrays summer league time trials!

Summer league is back in session! After missing 2020 due to COVID, we get to finally be back in the pool for the greatest few weeks of swim! Claire joined the Spring Cypress Stingrays this year and is on a team with many other kids from Fleet as well as many of her school friends. It is looking to be a great season! Today was crazy sock and mustache day!

Karsen and Claire...friends since kindergarten! Love these two together!

Claire and Abby...Claire started 6th grade with the comment "I think a girl in one of my classes at school is in my swim group at Fleet". Turns out, after encouraging Claire to start talking to "the girl", these two have become super great friends at school and at Fleet, and now at summer swim team as well!
The swim crew! Annalee, Addie, Abby, Caroline, Claire, and Karsen!

Net-less trampoline

What is a girl to do when she is waiting for a net to be replaced on her trampoline? Follow her father's suggestion of course, and move the trampoline near the pool to use it to propel into the deep end! Mom got a few more gray hairs watching this activity!

Jump #2....

A little crafting using our cabinet doors

We didn't want to let our defective cabinet doors go to waste so we decided to make something out of them. Claire did most of the hard work on gluing the photo holders and bows in place.

Our finished project on the wall! So fun to have photos of so many great memories on display!

B-I-N-G-O via the Euphonium

Claire has been working hard all year to learn to play the Euphonium. She has come a long way since the first time she played this large instrument! She is finished with band after this year is done, but has shown interest in piano so we will enroll her in piano lessons over the summer and see how it goes. We are very proud of her for practicing hard every day after school on something she has no interest in continuing! We admire her dedication to finish the commitment she made at the beginning of the year.
