A little pool time

It is always a challenge getting good pictures of these two goof balls! Nice to have our evenings free to enjoy some family time in the pool.

 

Birthday celebration (finally)!

We finally got to celebrate Claire's birthday with her two longest friends. These three girls met in kindergarten and have stayed friends since then! We love having them all together and pray their friendship lasts into adulthood!

Karsen, Claire, and Addisyn...it was a struggle, but I convinced them to let me get a few photos! Then we went to Schlitterbahn Galveston Waterpark for a day and enjoyed hitting some new rides and being lazy in the lazy river! So thankful these two amazing young ladies are in Claire's life!

 

More volunteering fun at the animal shelter

Claire has absolutely loved spending time at the animal shelter. She loves to give the dogs their toys...

and treats!

She has really enjoyed spending time in the cat room. She does some cleaning, but mostly enjoys playing with the younger kittens.

Oh my goodness, Claire fell in love with this little guy the last time we were at the shelter. If Jeff wouldn't have our heads, we would have brought him home with us! Claire played with him in his kennel and when she went to the next kennel to play with another puppy, he started barking at her to bring her back to him!

When Claire picked him up, he snuggled right into her shoulder. It was so hard to say no to bringing him home!

 

Fun at the car wash!

Claire always has fun doing the self carwash station! The car doesn't get completely clean sometimes, but it sure is fun watching her work hard at spraying the car and trying hard to stay dry!

 

Volunteering at Special Pals Animal Shelter

Claire and I have gotten involved in volunteering at Special Pals, a no kill shelter near our home. We go when we can to help around the shelter with many different tasks. We give the dogs toys and treats, freshen their water, give them fresh blankets, do laundry, and play with the dogs and cats. We also clean the cat house and freshen their water and food. This is our third time volunteering and Claire can't wait to go back. It was super hot last time we went and today it was raining so we have not been able to take any dogs outside to play yet, but hopefully next time. I am so proud of this girl's heart! She loves animals and chose to go to the shelter today to volunteer instead of going to the waterpark!

 

Visiting MeMaw and PawPaw!

We just returned from a quick trip to Tyler to visit these lovely people who have become a part of our family, MeMaw and PawPaw. We have known them ever since we moved to TX and they continue to remain an important part of our lives. It had been a year and a half since we had last seen them because of Covid. It was such a wonderful visit and always a blessing to share some time with them!

Claire kicked us out of the kitchen the other evening and decided she was going to do all the cooking for dinner!

She made BBQ chicken with green beans and sweet potato wedges. It was delicious! We need to have her do the cooking more often it looks like!
