Mud Girl Run 2022!

Today we completed our second Mud Girl Run! It has become a yearly tradition for Claire and I since we loved it last year! This year we talked her bestie, Abigail, and her mom and sister into joining us!

We had lots of fun and lots of time in the mud, as you can see! Crazy to spend money to play in mud! Thankful it goes toward a good cause - breast cancer research.

Mission accomplished! The girls are tired but happy they finished this fun and dirty obstacle course!

Volunteering at the animal shelter

We finally made it back to Special Pals  yesterday to volunteer for a few hours. Claire did a great job giving the dogs toys,

playing with the littlest ones (these two huskie babies both got adopted while we were volunteering!),
taking some of the dogs outside to play,
giving the dogs a treat,
and  giving  a few lucky dogs a fun walk/run around the backyard! This girl has a heart for these puppies and it is so hard to not take them all home with us. It was so good to see 4 get adopted out in just the 4 hours we were there yesterday!
Mom had the idea to stop at Kohls on the way home. This kid was crazy in the store! Loving her goofy attitude and willingness to still be silly! Would love for her to always stay a child!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to y'all! We decided to hit the sunrise service at church this morning which began at 7am. It was so nice to worship our risen Savior outdoors!

Not sure why Claire would get presents on Easter, but it somehow happened! We are spending our holiday enjoying each other and planning to try some new recipes for dinner!

Selfieland

Claire and Abigail went to Selfieland yesterday and had a blast. They got to take way too many selfies (over 300 in an hour and a half!). It was fun to go through them and see their personalities shine! Praying their friendship lasts a lifetime!

Superintendent Fun Run- our first 5K!!!

Claire and I ran in our first every 5K yesterday. It was a great time and the weather was absolutely perfect!

All ready for the fun run to begin!
We finished right at 31 minutes...not too bad for our first time and very minimal training! Claire took an early lead but I was able to catch up and pass her for a chunk of the run. She caught me close to the end and then sprinted past me to the finish. I came in about 30 seconds after her.  I was hoping to beat her so I could get a photo of her coming across the finish line, but she is just too fast for this old lady!
We were both pretty hot and tired by the time we finished. Thankfully neither of us are too sore today!
