4th Annual Mudgirl Run!

This morning Claire and I got to do our 4th Mudgirl Run! It is a 5K with 18 obstacles, most of which involve mud. We started this in 2021 and have done it annually since! It is so much fun and a challenge all rolled into one!
Claire decided to write "I love Mud" on our shirts this year!
We finished in just under one hour! We tried to jog as much as we could and took one every single obstacle! Claire even told me that I did better than she thought I would! I will take the compliment!

Such a fun way to spend the morning with my girl! Excited to see the photos that were taken along the course. I will be posting them when they are available! Thankful for a daughter who likes to get a little mud on her hands once in a while!

Our finished dishes from pottery class

We were able to pick up our dishes today that we did in our pottery class. They turned out so well! We are excited to use them for oatmeal, salsa, and other foods!
Mine are the first two, Claire's are the second two. Such a fun experience to share together!

Girl day!

Claire was off of school yesterday so I took the day off too and we had a girl's day! We took a pottery class and got to make two pieces.

After having so much fun doing some pottery, we did a little shopping and then got a late lunch at McAlisters's Deli before heading home. As you can see, we both love their baked potatoes! This was such a fun day and I feel so blessed that God has entrusted this amazing young woman to me. We have our hard days for sure, but this was one that I will hold close to my heart forever! So thankful for Claire and the relationship we share!

Claire's first 5K open water swim meet!

Words cannot even being to express just how impressed and proud we are of Claire this past weekend. She signed up for her very first 5K (3.2 MILES) open water swim. Last year she did the same meet and swam the mile. This year, the only option was 5K. At first, when asked if she wanted to sign up, her response was "oh heck no"! Then about a week later she came to me and asked if the meet was still open to sign up, she wanted to face the challenge. Face the challenge she sure did! Here she is walking up to the dock to get ready to jump in!
There were 45 girls in Claire's age group...all lined up by the starting line, waiting for the horn.

Claire finished with a time of 1 hour and 21 minutes! She never once stopped to take a break and just kept swimming! She came in 10th out of 45!!! We are over the moon impressed with her determination. The lake was set up for 3.2 miles to be 4 laps around the buoys. The first 3.5 laps, Claire was in the back of a group of 5 swimmers in her age group. The last half lap, she picked up her pace while the other girls got tired out and she ended up coming in ahead of the other 5 girls in the bunch! It was so fun to watch at the finish line!
Since she is a typical teenager, she was not happy to get a photo with me, but I made her do just one! This was after her race and she was shot! I loved watching her push to her very limits and do her very best to conquer this challenge! There were some sore legs and shoulders the next morning for sure!

Happy Easter! He is Risen!

We started our Easter Sunday with sunrise service at church. Since rain was on the way, they held the service indoors so we didn't get to watch the sunrise. However, it was a beautiful service and a wonderful way to begin the day of celebrating our risen Savior!

After church, we came home and had monkey bread for breakfast. Then Claire opened a few gifts she got...of course, she was being goofy as always!
We got her this sign for her wall in her bedroom. It is the Bible verse she chose for the back of her letter jacket at school. I think it is the perfect verse to begin every day with!
Then in the afternoon, we met the Fink family on Lake Conroe for some boating and tubing. The girls made a "candy salad" to share!

So cute with the bunny ears!

These girls were crazy to get in the water- the boat said the water temp was 68.5 degrees! They had so much fun despite the gloomy weather!

Fleet swim banquet

Claire had her Fleet swim banquet to celebrate another successful year of swimming club.

Claire and Abigail...both looking so beautiful!

Maddie and Claire....more beautiful pics!
Peanut and Claire...all these girls swim together in high school as well! It has been fun watching their friendships grow this year.

Claire, Knox, and Abigail. Knox has taken these two girls under his wing and they love it! He is a complete goof which Claire enjoys completely! It was a fun evening!
