Homecoming...Junior year!

Claire got together with her friends on homecoming morning to make their bouquets for pictures.

Then of course we made her take a few pictures before heading out for dinner and a night of fun with her friends!

Friday was Mum day!

I still don't understand this tradition. These kids wear these heavy mums around their necks all day at school! I guess it is worth the torture!

Homecoming Week Parade

Claire had a blast helping to decorate and then ride on the float with her swim team for the homecoming parade! Such a fun theme!

Theme nights for High School football games!

Claire has been having a fun time dressing up for the high school theme days at school this year! She has done gold out, red, white, and blue, and jungle night. Love how involved she is getting this year!

Bruce comes to visit!

We have loved having Grandpa Bruce come to visit and blessed to have this time with him! We ate way too much food, had lots of great conversations, and played some games. Excited to have him back again soon!

First day of 11th grade!

I cannot believe our baby girl is starting her junior year of high school already! I wish time would slow down. I am so excited to see what God has planned for her and where He plans to take her, but I am ok to freeze time for a while first! Crazy that she is driving herself to school now and basically on her own in many ways. We are so proud of the young lady she is becoming, so proud of the wonderful choices she is making, and so proud of her growth in her faith this past year! She allowed me to get a few pictures before heading off to school on Wednesday and even let me to a silly one since it has been the tradition since kindergarten! Praying for a wonderful year full of successes and growth!

Hudson Westbrook concert!

Last weekend, the last one before school began, Claire and Abigail went to the Hudson Westbrook concert. It was a great way to end the summer!

Toughest week of summer

Claire tackled the last week of July like a champ. On Saturday she took a practice ACT test (of course not by her choosing), Monday she had all four wisdom teeth removed, Tuesday she had a big quiz for her college class through Baylor, Wednesday she had a mid-term for her college class through Baylor, Thursday she had another outpatient surgery. Friday she finally got to chill and recover before taking a practice SAT test on Saturday....week of torture and she handled it all like a champ! We are so grateful for her rapid healing, her determination, and her desire to keep pushing through! She never ceases to amaze us!

We have a legal driver!

Claire took her behind the wheel test on July 12. The lady who did her ride along said Claire was only the 3rd person who has gotten 100% on the test and she has been doing testing for over 8 months! We definitely have a wonderful driver!

We got to celebrate Mom's birthday early since we were all here together. She loved her dot art and wasn't super excited about the cheese grater but we will get her using it before she knows it!
