Car making day

Wednesday night at church, the girls have a "drive in". The kids get to make a car out of a cardboard box to use in a parade and then sit in while watching a movie. This year the girls decided to each make their own car. We went to the dollar store to stock up on supplies. Claire chose an Easter theme and Karsen chose St Patrick's Day.

 The girls work very hard for over 2 and a half hours to create their "cars"

 It was fun to watch them think through their ideas and then to offer suggestions to each other and help each other when needed.

 The girls did an awesome job creating very unique cars this year! Wednesday they will get to display them at church!

Zip lining adventure!

Today we got to stop by a very cool zip line place and we tackled our fears and did a 9 line course with 2 suspension bridges. The final line was 1500 feet long and was a blast! We all started a little bit nervous, but by the 3rd line, everyone was comfortable and Claire was wanting to go first by the 5th line! 

 You can see the nervousness in Claire's face as we wait to do our first line! I went first and I don't think I have ever seen her eyes as huge as when she stopped at the other end!

Visit with Me Maw and Paw Paw

We got to spend the weekend with some very dear friends who have been a part of our family since before Claire was born, MeMaw and PawPaw, this weekend and we had such a wonderful visit!

We can never visit without bringing some games along. This time Claire chose to bring Headbands and we had so much fun trying to figure out what was on our head!

 What's a girl to do when the adults are all sitting around talking? Take the camera and do a bunch of fun selfie pictures of course!

 So thankful to have these wonderful people in our lives! They are so special to us and we are blessed to spend some time with them!

Just doing a few science experiments over winter break!

Claire got a science kit for Christmas and wanted to test it out so we spent two days working on science experiments! Her favorites were the bubble making solution,

 the disappearing picture that glows in the dark,

 rock painting (not an experiment but threw the picture in!),

 and the erupting volcano!

 The final experiment was making dough to create a creature or object.

 Claire chose to make a donut (no surprise there!) and is excited for it to harden overnight so she can paint it tomorrow!

Happy New Year! Welcome 2019!

 We had a fun time bringing in the new year with some wonderful friends! The kids all played so well together and even stopped for a few fun poses!

 We played some minute to win it games which were fun for kids and adults!

 Jeff had some fireworks from years ago in the garage so we decided to give them a try to see if they still worked. It wasn't a grand display but the kids had fun watching them anyway!
