Here comes trouble!
Hmm...where should I spread my prunes next?!
Do I look good in red high heels?
My very first time ever to hold a newborn. My new friend, Layla, is just 3 weeks old. Mommy said I did a very good job holding her!
Hanging with my buddy Cyrus. We have so much fun together and laugh a lot!

She makes me smile
It has been forever and a day since I put anything on the blog but I do have a really good excuse. I cut my finger and work and had to have surgery. Even though my left index finger is still numb, my doctor says that the nerve will regrow and the feeling will slowly return. I am working on gaining some mobility back since I haven't been able to move it for the last month. Sheila says I need to move my finger as much a possible so I thought a good therapy would be typing. Our little chatter box keeps us smiling constantly. Her questions, comments and phrases make Sheila and I look at eachother and just laugh. She has something to say about nearly everything we do. I was driving to the zoo today and Sheila called. I had her on the car's speaker system so Claire could hear her. Near the end of the conversation Sheila said "I'll let you go so you can pay attention to your driving". For the next ten minutes Claire asked me; "Daddy paying attention?" It is hard to drive when tears are coming down your face from laughing so hard. Hopefully when we go on vacation next month, Claire will have enough time to spend with everyone so she can get past her initial shyness and show off her true personality

Braggin' on our girl
I have to take a moment to brag a bit on our little girl. She has started to explode with her talking and is like a little sponge! Claire knows her colors, her letters, and her numbers up to 20. In the past week she has started to sing songs with us. She knows most of the words to "Itsy, bitsy spider" and can do most of the "ABC song". The other evening Jeff and I were outside talking about the tree we planted and trying to decide if we needed to water it more. Claire was standing next to us and every time either of us said something, she would repeat the last few words. It was so funny to listen to!
I had to share the picture of Claire using her vacuum. I was busy in the kitchen and I happened to look into the front room to see that Claire had moved her toys away from the wall and was busy vacuuming along the wall! I just had to smile and of course get a few pictures of it! She is such a ray of sunshine in our lives and we are so very blessed to be able to spend so much time with her!

A busy week
Happy 4th of July! What Claire is really thinking is "why are you making me come outside to hold this flag when it is 105 degrees and by the way, do you ever stop taking pictures Mom?"
Claire multi-tasking. She loves to be independent and has started taking on more tasks at once. This time she wanted to carry her baby, carry the baby bottle, and go down the stairs by herself. I am still cautious about letting her do this alone, but I am getting better at giving her more independence.
Claire says "see Mom, I made it down all by myself. I told you I could do it!"
Claire is getting better at entertaining herself. I have to keep a close eye on her to be sure crayon doesn't end up on the wall or window, but she does a good job of playing independently for short periods now so I can get something done.
Snugglin' with my Daddy. What a great place to be!
