Sea World

For our Monkey Moo's birthday we decided to take a short trip to San Antonio to go to Sea World. It started off at 6 in the morning on Thursday and didn't end until midnight on Friday. Claire was awake for 9 hours of park hopping each day. Both Sheila and I were amazed that she didn't just fall over after all the walking and playing she did. Some of the highlights were Shamu and his big, cold splash. The dolphins and thier flips and spins. Of course the water park was a huge hit when it was 90 plus and very sunny. Watching Claire get involved in the Elmo show and do her best to sing along with some of the songs was very fun to see. Overall it was a trip filled with fun that hopefully our family remembers for a long time; or at least until we go again.

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

What a busy day we had today. It started off with helping Daddy get ready for work. We had to make him hurry out the door because we had lots of work to do for his special day. Once we got Daddy on his way, we sat down to make our banner. Mommy let me paint my hands and feet all by myself.

Our banner once it was completed. We took it to Daddy at work to surprise him and then took him out to lunch. I think he really liked the banner because he got a big smile on his face and turned all red when we held it up for all to see! After lunch, we had to hurry home to bake his cake that I picked out- Funfetti with strawberry frosting and of course lots of sprinkles to go on top!
After all of that hard work, I needed a rest so I decided to head to the pool and relax in the floatie. It's a rough life!

After playing with Mommy in the pool for almost 2 hours, it was time to decorate the cake. Mommy let me frost most of it all by myself, she only had to help on the edges. Then I got to put on as many sprinkles as I thought Daddy would like, which I knew would be a lot! I put on a lot but then ended up sampling almost half of them!
I am very proud of my decorating abilities and I know my Daddy will just love them when he gets home!

Me and my Daddy after he opened his present.
Thank you Daddy for being the best Daddy in the entire world.
I am so lucky to have you as my Dad and I can't wait to spend every moment I can with you!
Mommy and I hope you had a great Father's Day.
I love you Daddy!

"I'm getting burps"

We gave Claire corn-on-the-cob for the first time tonight. She loved it and did a great job of eating it off the cob! After about half of her cob was eaten, she burped and then went on to tell me, very seriously I might add, "I.m getting burps cuz I'm eating too much corn Mommy"! It was so cute and just another thing that she comes up with to make me laugh!

I love my "blankwey" and my "amimals"

Claire has been in the school mode lately. Every day we get to play school in her bedroom. Sometimes Mommy gets to be the teacher, sometimes Daddy gets to be the teacher, and sometimes the pretend person in the room is the teacher. This is a picture from our "school day" when we were taking a rest. Claire speaks very clearly and well for her age but two words that she says a little incorrectly are blankey and animals. I love it when she says these two words because they sound so cute when they come out as "blankwey" and "amimals".
Claire still loves to wash the dishes for Mommy. We have developed a system where Claire steps in after all of the sharp utensils and glass dishes are washed. She does the rest and Mommy dries the dishes (after double checking that they are washed good!). I love the help and love to watch Claire concentrate so hard on doing a good job.
Claire working on matching colors and objects. She has started to do really well playing by herself a bit during the day which gives Mommy a chance to get some housework done. While I work, I love to listen to Claire talking and engaging in her world. The stories she comes up with and the things she plays are so fun!

 All smiles with my Daddy!

Driver's Ed.

While Grandma and Granpa were here, Claire made up a game of driving on the stairs. They would have to sit down, close the baby gate (car door) and begin the road trip. Along the way there were all kinds of animals and other obstacles in the way. Unfortunately, Grandma wasn't a good driver and would hit an occasional item in the road. The car would bounce, throwing them in the air. I guess this game would last for hours. Or at least until the dance club opened.
