A good time at Funky Monkey!

This past weekend we took the kids to a indoor playground and bounce house. It was a good time and even though Claire said it was very boring, the pictures seem to show something different!
When your name is Claire, I guess you don't have to go down the slide the correct way!

So, I have to agree with her. She was a bit too big for some of the stuff!

Valentine's Day!

Claire and her Grandma...I love the relationship these two share. They are found either cuddling together or...
teasing each other about anything they can think of! So fun to watch them together!
Each kiddo got a small present for Valentines day.
Claire got this frog that she named Valentine (very fitting!)

8 and under Champs Swim Meet

Today Claire participated in her second swim meet and we could not be more proud of her! The first meet was very overwhelming and she was hesitant to go to more meets. After a few months of practice, she decided she was ready to try another one. She did AWESOME today!
Pictures with mom and dad before the meet began.
She swam the 25 back stroke, 25 and 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle relay, and 25 breaststroke. She came in first place in 3 of the 5 races in her heat! She also improved her times from her first meet greatly!

Jeff and I could not be more proud of how great Claire did today! She had so much fun and really went into the meet with a great attitude and determination to do her very best! She is now interested in getting a few private lessons to work on her diving so she can gain even more speed! I love the heart of this precious girl!

Feeding the police horses!

Today we went to feed the horses that are trained and used by the Houston Police Department downtown. Unfortunately most of the horses were gone due to the Superbowl tomorrow, but we did get to feed 6 horses and got a wonderful tour of the place by some amazing workers there.
Claire and her friend Savanna were a bit skeptical at first, but warmed up really quickly. This horse, Cody, was very gentle and the girls soon became comfortable feeding him and petting him.

This horse was a bit more feisty, but Claire got over her fear and fed him anyway!
Our tour guide brought us through the room where they keep the feed for the horses, along with the medicine and vitamins.
Then we got to see where they keep the saddles and equipment for the horses.
Finally, we went out to the arena to learn about how they train the horses and got to watch our tour guide do some playing with the horses in this area.
This was the main horse in the arena and he wasn't afraid to let everyone know he was boss! He made sure the other horses didn't try to get his carrots!
I think Grandma enjoyed having some time with these beautiful horses!
By the end of our visit, Claire was pretty brave and even fed the boss horse some carrots by herself!
A quick picture in the front of the stables. Now Claire says she wants to actually ride a horse. I am hopeful we can make that happen while Grandma is still with us.

Book Parade...Claire is Peanut Butter!

Claire has her book parade at school today. The kids get to dress up as a book character and walk through the school for the other grades to see them. Claire wanted to be Peanut Butter from the book Peanut Butter and Cupcake! I can guarantee she will be the only Peanut Butter in the school!
Here she is working on coloring the crust.

Here are the finished pieces of bread, equipped with peanut butter on the front and jelly on the back!
A quick picture in front of the school with Claire, aka Peanut Butter, and her book for the parade!

Had to sneak in a pic from lunch with my girl yesterday! Love this kid to the moon and back!

Who wants some s'mores?

We had a family from our bible study group over to make s'mores last Sunday. The weather was so beautiful. After playing at Claire's school playground, we came home and let the kids make s'mores.
Claire and Clara waiting patiently for their marshmallow to be cooked just right!
Then it was time to dig in! You cannot eat a s'more without getting half of it on your face!

Elevator hand game

It was so much fun watching Claire and Jeff do the elevator hand game. They were pretty good at it and kept it going for quite a while, laughing the entire time!
