Spring Break- Naples Florida- the journey begins!

Grandma, Claire, and Shannon flew to Brandon's house in Naples, Florida and Jeff and I drove. It was a long adventure that started with us making it 2 hours in when Jeff realized he forgot his wallet at home. We turned around, slept til midnight, then made the drive in one day and got to Brandon's house Saturday evening.

Ellie surprised Claire when she arrived at the airport! The girls went shopping on Saturday and found some clothes.

Then they went to the golf course and played some bocce ball and that afternoon, Grandma taught the kids some line dances!

Sunday we went to church outside...

and then for lunch at Tin City.

We played lots of games in the evenings including the horse game and 7-up.

We also spent lots of time in the backyard by the pool.
The kids played a game where they had to be blindfolded and use spatulas to try to collect dollar bills. The best part was Brandon placed a $100 bill in the mix so the kids were trying hard to get that one. Once they began, we removed the $100 bill and only placed it back just before they removed their blindfolds. We did this for three rounds. Surprisingly, none of the kids realized the trick until the next day when they realized they had been played!

More pool time!

On to part 2 of spring break....

Spring Break- Naples Florida- Vanderbilt Beach

We had a great day at Vanderbilt Beach! It was gorgeous! Brandon introduced us to a drink called Painkiller and we all really enjoyed that!

The kids found a sandbar and had fun playing ball for a long time.

The boys worked hard on digging a deep hole in the sand!

We all laughed after this photo...just thinking of all the college age kids watching us old people trying to jump for a photo...I am sure many people got a great laugh at us but it was fun!

Spring Break- Naples Florida- bocce ball, mini golf, and pontooning on the ocean

We spent lots of time playing bocce ball.

Jeff, Harvey, and I were on a team and came in first place! Must have been Harvey that carried us there because Jeff and I have never played bocce ball before!

The team of Jeff, Sheila, Ellie and Scott came in first place in mini golf!

Jeff, Brandon, and the two boys played a round of golf as well. Jeff ended up coming in first place!
Then we took out a pontoon for an afternoon and had lots of fun looking at all of the mansions, yachts, and stopping at a beach for some shell collecting.

The boys got an entire pail full of awesome shells!
We all got a little too much sun this day!

Spring break- Naples Florida- gator airboat and sunset at the beach

We went on an airboat ride to search for alligators. We saw a few on the journey!

The ride through the marsh was so cool!

After the ride, we got to enjoy a gator show and then actually hold the alligator!

Then we went back to Vanderbilt beach for sunset. It was so beautiful!

Thank you Brandon and Annie for hosting all of us this spring break! We had a blast and made so many wonderful memories!
