Fun week with Aunt Shannon!
We were blessed to have Aunt Shannon come to spend the week with us. Our week was filled with so many fun things! We did lots of shopping, lots of eating (including trying a new restaurant called Every Bellies and a new frozen custard place called Andy's frozen custard), lots of pool time. We also tried out axe throwing and bungee exercise class (the highlight of the week for all of us I think!). It was a week filled with adventure and trying new things! So thankful for wonderful family and many great memories made this past week!
Football game and friend fun!
Claire has been making sure to do all the things for her senior year so far! She has been having fun doing the theme nights for the football games and spending lots of time with friends. We are so proud of the young woman she is becoming and we know God has big plans for her!
Senior yearbook photo
For the yearbook photo, seniors are required to go to a specific photographer. Claire's picture turned out so wonderfully! I cannot believe my baby girl is graduting in a few short months...
First day of 12th grade (yikes...)!
It was a bummer that Claire had to begin her senior year of high school with crutches, but she handled it like a champ! Thankful for wonderful friends who made sure she got to school and home as needed. This will be a year full of many emotions for all of us I have a feeling!
Senior Sunrise!
The Friday before school started, Claire went to Senior Sunrise. She had gotten together with friends to decorate her friend's truck windows for the first day of school (since she couldn't drive). The decorations turned out so cute and she had a fun morning with friends, despite having to get up super early to catch sunrise. It was a fun way to begin her finaly year of high school.
Claire's knee surgery
Claire had MPFL reconstruction along with the MACI procedure (cartilage replacement on her femur using her own cells) on June 30th. She did amazing and we were overwhelmed with just how wonderfully she did! She never had any pain during her recovery, other than sore muscles after physical therapy. She was a trooper and did her CPM machine faithfully and followed all the rules for recovery. Six full weeks with zero weight on her right leg or foot...no driving, no going anywhere without crutches. We got to spend alot of time together and those are memories I will cherist. We did lots of crafting, cooking and baking, pool time, and gaming. She had many visits from friends and received many get well gifts that kept her busy. Feeling super grateful for her attitude during this recovery period and for the success of this surgery. She is just now (as of mid-September) starting to get around without crutches but still needs her brace almost 100% of the time. She is super happy to be driving again and to be able to put full weight on her leg. Now the work of building back her muscles in her right leg begin, which means physical therapy is about to get tough....
